Although a man confessed to a hit and run accident in Bellevue, police are still speaking with him to determine the validity of his statements.
After watching a news report about the accident a tipster call was placed to the Bellevue police department. The caller said that a house near him often had two Town Cars parked out front, the same type of car involved in the accident. Investigators were suspicious of the call but investigated anyway, and to their surprise a car bearing a similar license plate to one given by witness testimony was discovered.
As they were examining damage to the exterior, police noticed a man come out of his house. He approached the officers and then allegedly confessed to the crime. The responding officers arrested the 49-year-old man and impounded his car to be examined.

Police in Olympia are searching for the person responsible for a hit and run accident last Saturday. According to witnesses a silver sedan went speeding through the Goodwill parking lot in west Olympia, striking a German Shepherd being walked on a leash by its owner.
The dog was then dragged about 1,500 feet underneath the still-moving vehicle before ejecting it into a back alley. Unfortunately the animal could not be saved and was euthanized at a local vet. According to Olympia Police Sgt. Paul Johnson the car didn't stop once to slow down, not even when the dog was left in the alley.
At this time the police know that the driver was operating a silver sedan that was driving by Goodwill around 3 p.m. on Saturday. This store is located in the 400 block of Cooper Point Road Southwest. While the woman was able to jump out of the way before the car struck her as well, she is devastated by her loss. Nobody was able to get the license plate number of the vehicle in time.
