According to reports, Ashley Smithwick was also charged with a misdemeanor. She claims that she accidentally took her father’s lunch to school that day. He father agreed and reported that the knife was intended to cut an apple.

  Police Seek Suspect for Indecent Exposure Incidents in Ventura

A suspect and vehicle description have been obtained by the Ventura Police Department for the person responsible for several indecent exposures around Ventura High School.

The suspect has been seen driving around the high school, calling out to female juveniles to capture their attention and then masturbating in front of them. An officer conducting a routine traffic stop got lucky when a man fitting the description of the suspect was pulled over. Detectives were then called out to continue the investigation.

Witnesses and victims who had described the man before were able to positively identify him as the suspect, as well as identifying his vehicle. This allowed officers to arrest him on multiple counts of 314 PC, Indecent Exposure.  However, the suspect was soon released; his car has been impounded due to several vehicle code violations.

A Mexico City man accused of killing his baby daughter was finally arrested on Monday morning by local police.  It seems that Jose Deras, 20,  fled their home in South Gate to Mexico, only to be taken into custody by Mexican authorities and is being held pending extradition.

  Gang Related Shooting Injures 5 Men

In Valley Glen, it has been reported that police are on the lookout for two suspects that are believed to be involved in a gang related shooting that left 5 people injured.  The shooting took place at a residence on Saturday at 11:00 PM.

At the time of the shooting, 10 people had been inside a home watching a boxing match on TV when they went out to the front yard to talk. While they were talking, a dark colored vehicle pulled up and a man got out of the car and asked the people in the yard where they were from while the driver remained inside the vehicle. The man then pulled out a gun and started to shoot which led to five men suffering injuries.

The shooter got back into the vehicle and the driver sped away. On Sunday, news sources reported that to the victims of the shooting were in critical condition.

Police have reason to believe that the incident was a gang crime.

  Woman Accused of Murdering Her Husband's Children

Heather Leavell-Keaton reportedly tied her husband's children up, beat them, called them "demon spawns from hell" and eventually left them to die.   Driver That Caused Hit and Run Death Gets 3 Years Probation

In San Diego, it has been reported that a young man who failed to stop the car he was driving after hitting a four-year-old boy on a local street was placed on probation for three years this week.

19-year-old Samuel Metu was formally charged in connection with the death of Jameson Darapheth back in July.  He then pled guilty to one count of misdemeanor hit-and-run causing death following his arrest.

Citing the plea agreement reached between Metu and prosecutors, the judge presiding over his case said that Metu can ask for his probation to be terminated after 18 months time.  He also gave Metu credit for time served because he had spent five days in a county jail.

  No Charges in Sexual Assault Case at Notre Dame

A student from St. Mary's College reportedly accused the athlete of touching her breasts, but she has since died of a suspected overdose.
