  Man Accused of Human Trafficking

In Los Angeles, police report that they have a convicted felon in custody who is believed to have forced at least two runaway girls to work as prostitutes in southern Los Angeles. At this time, they are asking anyone with additional information to come forward.

34-year-old Leroy Bragg was placed under arrest after the family of a 13-year-old contacted the Los Angeles police department and told officers that the girl was being held against her will.

Following that call, officers from the Los Angeles police department learned that Braggs was also holding a 14-year-old girl against her will at the same location.

On Thursday, prosecutors charged Bragg with multiple felony counts including human trafficking involving a minor, soliciting a minor prostitute under 16, first-degree burglary and pandering by procuring a minor under 16. Authorities say that additional charges are expected to be filed.

An East Hartford, Connecticut man has been charged with drug possession after he was found with 45 bags of powdered cocaine on him during a traffic stop.

Anthony Quinitchett has been charged with possession of drugs with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  Police Search Fails to Produce Murder Suspect

Police in Los Angeles say they have ended their search through the hills above Studio City for a man who has matched the description of a murder suspect that allegedly stabbed a woman to death during a residential burglary and then set her house on fire.

Police searched the area near Fryman Canyon Park for over six hours last Friday in an attempt to find 34-year-old Omar Armando Loera.

Authorities started their ambitious search of the park after an employee said a man was seen who fit Loera's description.   According to Lt. Alan Hamilton, officers were not able to find Loera on Friday, but were committed to responding to any sighting related calls.

Loera is a parolee who is wanted in the killing of Chere Osmanhodzic who was found stabbed to death in her burned down home on July 24th.

  ‘Cake Boss’ Cast Member Arrested for Sexual Assault

  Hit and Run Suspect Chased Down by Two Marines

The Associated Press recently reported that the Oregon State police got help from the Marines when a man who caused a hit-and-run accident and injury tried to flee on foot.

Troopers told news sources that 26-year-old Christopher Lee Cox of La Grande crashed his station wagon into the back of another station wagon while driving onto the on-ramp for Interstate 205.  Cox reportedly caused injuries to the driver of the other car.

Instead of stopping, Cox exited his vehicle and started to run off before two men, later identified as Marines in civilians cothing, chased him down and detained him until police arrived at the scene.

Cox was later charged with hit and run, assault, recklessly endangering anddriving under the influence (DUI).

  Couple Charged with Wire Fraud after Scamming ICE

In Los Angeles, police allege that a former immigration agent is guilty of stealing more than half $1 million in pay as well as benefits.

Authorities say that the former assistant special agent, who was in charge for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was also charged with obstruction of justice for a smuggling case.

51-year-old Frank Eugene Johnston and his wife are set to be arraigned this Friday said the U.S. Attorney's Office.  They have been charged with wire fraud, theft and making false statements.

Prosecutors told news sources that Johnston and his wife were in charge of a Los Angeles-based immigration agency.  Johnston supervised his wife and assigned her to a remote office and then approved time sheets for $582,000 even though she never worked.

  18 Year Old Faces Sex Crime Charges

According to police officers, an 18-year-old man from Canyon Country was arraigned in San Fernando Superior Court this week after he was arrested on suspicion of having sex with a minor.

Prosecutors say that John Francis Grable has been charged with one count of unlawful sexual intercourse, oral copulation of a person under 18 and sexual penetration of a foreign object.  Details were made public by a complaint filed with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Investigators say that the sex crimes involving minor who was at least three years younger than the defendant.  At this time, the case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Special Victims Bureau.

  Man Shot Charged with Weapon Possession

A man has been charged with various gun charges after he survived more than 20 bullets when he was involved in a fatal Harlem shootout.

  Basketball Rookie Charged with Assault

Pacers rookie Lance Stephenson has been charged with assault in regard to a matter where he allegedly pushed his girlfriend down a flight of stairs.

According to the police report, Stephenson allegedly shoved his girlfriend down ten steps, head-first, which led to her suffering injuries to her head and neck.

  Cab Driver Arrested for Hit and Run

Earlier this week, police in the city of Los Angeles said they had caught a taxi driver that had hit and injured a man.  Officers caught the driver of the cab several blocks away from the scene of the hit and run accident.

The collision occurred at Central Avenue and 85th Street at around 1:40 AM.  Police say they stopped the taxi driver after at Central and Imperial Highway.  Officers reported that the injured man was taken to the hospital and paramedics say he was in critical condition after being hit by the taxi.

Police noticed the cab on Central and Imperial Highway had front-end damage and pulled it over, which led to the arrest of the hit-and-run driver.

  Man Arrested for Kidnapping Ex

  Faith Evans Formerly Charged with DUI

In Los Angeles, it has been reported that Grammy award-winning singer, Faith Evans, was officially charged with two counts of misdemeanor driving under the influence last Friday.  The singer was charged by the Los Angeles City Attorney's office.  She is due to be arraigned on September 16th.

Evans, who is well-known for being the widow of New York rapper Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace, was stopped on August 21st by officers at a sobriety checkpoint north of Marina del Rey.  Police say that when she was stopped, Evans appeared to be intoxicated.

Sgt. Ron Pickering of the LAPD Pacific Division told the Daily News, "It was during a regular checkpoint, nothing other than that.  No collision."

If she is convicted, the 37-year-old singer faces six months of jail time.
