Authorities say that a judge sentenced a 29-year-old Rosemead man to 84 years to life in prison for the murder of a Gabrielino High School senior.

In addition to first-degree murder charges, Guerrero also was convicted of gang and gun enhancements. Following the conviction, the defense motioned for a new trial, but this was denied by the court.
Also accused of the murder were Guerrero's brother, who remains a fugitive, and co-defendant Sarah Toledo. Toledo faces the same charges for allegedly helping the Guerrero brothers target Dasalla.
The Guerrero brothers are members of the Varrio Nueva Estrada street gang and it is believed they targeted Dasalla on the assumption that Dasalla was involved in the beating of the Guerrero brother's little brother.
