A man has finally been arrested for a 2009 kidnapping and assault matter after a suspicious vehicle call was made to police.

According to reports, John Phi Truong was arrested in a matter where two men were imprisoned and beaten in order to get them to return two marijuana plants.

  Four Teenagers Accused of Assault

  Five Arrested in Deli Burglary and Theft

  No Contest Plea in Attack on Homeless

A soldier from Kentucky has entered a plea of no contest in regard to a felonious assault of a homeless man that was done with a baseball bat and a pipe.

According to reports, Riley Feller, along with three other men, beat John Johnson while he was sleeping under a bridge. The assailants apparently wanted to "kick somebody's butt."

Now, Feller has entered his plea and will await his sentencing. Johnson suffered a facial fracture due to the attack.

  Udonis Haslem Charged with Drug Possession

This Sunday, the Miami Herald reported that forward for the Miami Heat, Udonis Haslem, was stopped by the Florida Highway Patrol and was found to be in possession of drugs.

The traffic stop occurred somewhere in Miami and after the stop Haslem was charged with possession of marijuana by police.

Originally, Haslem was pulled over for having tinted windows. However, police searched the car three times for narcotics as an initial search and a search with drug dogs revealed nothing.  Officers searched the vehicle of their time and found 20 grams of marijuana. Now, Haslem will have to contest his possession of marijuana charges or face being convicted for a drug crime.

  Timbaland Reports Theft of $2 Million Watch

In Malibu, law enforcement officers were looking into a claim by rapper Timbaland that someone stole a $2 million watch from his residence.

Police from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's office report that Timbaland told them about the theft over the weekend, but there was no indication of a break-in at his home.  At this time, Timbaland is concerned that the thief is someone that he may know.

On Wednesday, the rapper-producer told Ryan Seacrest during an interview that something was stolen but it wasn't a watch. He would not elaborate or tell him why the report he filed notes a $2 million watch being stolen.

Garrett Johnson, a former North Dakota State football player, has pleaded guilty to felony theft due to a theft ring at a Best Buy store in Fargo.

  Man Charged with Felony Weapon Possession

A Syracuse, New York man has been charged with felony weapon possession after a report came in that a person may be in possession of a gun.

According to reports, when officers tried to approach Cruz Claudio, he then ran away on foot, displaying the handgun as he ran.

  Defendant Sentenced for Nightclub Shooting

This week in Orlando, it has been reported that a man from central Florida was sentenced to life imprisonment after being accused of fatally shooting one man and injuring two others outside of a local Orlando nightclub.

A judge in Orange County sends 27-year-old Xavier Ortiz-Reyes on Tuesday. On August 19th, Reyes was convicted of first-degree murder as well as two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

According to police, Reyes and some of his friends got into altercations with another group outside of the Roxy Nightclub in January 2008.  Witnesses say that Reyes went over to the other group saying he wanted to talk, but started the fight. Initially, he got into a car to speak with the other men, but then got out and fired shots into the vehicle.  The shooting led to the death of 25-year-old Omar Nunez and injured two others.

Reyes testified that he fired shots in self-defense.

  Football Player Pleads Not Guilty to Assault

  Five Arrested on Drug Charges

When a drug deal occurred in the Lewes, Delaware, five people ended up arrested as a result. The drug deal was occurring in a parking lot in the area.

According to reports, two women went into a pharmacy where they had several prescriptions for Oxycodone filled and then met with other people in the lot.

  Man Convicted of Sexually Assaulting Teenager

In Mesa, a man was convicted of eight felony counts of sexual assault this week. It is said that 69-year-old Rodney Eddy had sexually assaulted a teenage girl that once lived inside his home.

He was found guilty on four counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and identical counts alleging he had a pattern of abuse had occurred.  Eddy was found not guilty on six other sexual assault charges, two of which included sexual exploitation of a child.

The verdicts in his trial, which lasted over three week, were read in Judge Valerie Robinson's courtroom.  The jury found that Eddy had sexual relations with the teenager starting in the summer of 2003. At the time, the girl would have been 13 years old and it is said that Eddy and his wife have plans to adopt her. In 2008, the girl moved out of the home and reported the abuse to police.

  Massachusetts Man Arrested for Kidnapping

A man has been arrested after allegedly kidnapping a woman in the Tauton, Massachusetts area and later sexually assaulting her at a motel.

Kenneth Rocha was found at the motel with the victim by police. The woman told officers that Rochas had bound and gagged her in the car and then sexually assaulted her. He also refused to let her leave the motel.  

Rocha has now been charged with kidnapping and indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 years old. He is being held without bail.

  Former Teacher Sentenced in ID Theft

  Woman and Her Dog Killed during Hit and Run

In Montebello, this week a driver pled not guilty to the fatal hit-and-run of an 84-year-old pedestrian and her dog. 37-year-old David Lewis Loera of Montebello was arraigned at East Los Angeles Superior Court.  He was charged with felony vehicular manslaughter as well as felony leaving the scene of an accident.

According to the district attorney's office he will return to court on September 8th for a preliminary hearing.  Loera managed to post a bond or $100,000 bail.

Loera and his defense attorney could not be reached for comment on the charges.

The victim, Norma Lambo and her dog Barney were hit and killed on October 5, 2009 as they were crossing at Jefferson Avenue. Police say they were hit by a pickup truck.

Lambo and her dog died at the scene.

  Recreation Employees Accused of Selling Drugs

  Police Investigate Date Rape Drug Case

In Minneapolis, the police are investigating the possibility that someone slipped a date rape drug into the drinks of two women.

  Two Men Arrested for DUI

In Pajaro, the Monterey County Sheriff's Department reported that two men who were suspected of driving under the influence and driving without licenses were arrested during separate instances.

32 year old Pantalone Rocete was driving more than 60 MPH in a Plymouth Voyager minivan near San Juan Road, where the speed limit is 30 MPH.   Deputies stopped him for speeding and found that Rocete was not far from his come.  He was placed under arrest for DWI and not having a driver's license.

Following Rocete's arrest, police stopped 24 year old Fabian Solano at Railroad Ave and Allison Road.  Solana was DUI and also did not have a driver's license.  He was placed under arrest by police at 2 AM.

Christopher A. Baker, of Niagara Falls, has pleaded not guilty to an indictment accusing him of drug possession and the intent to sell it.

Blanca Solis and Marco Cadenas, along with three other men, abducted the woman as she closed up her salon and demanded $200,000 in ransom from her husband.
